Advent candles

The Advent season begins on Sunday 2 December. The season, which leads to Christmas, is one of preparation and hope.

Though carols are inevitably sung during Advent, they are usually Christmas carols rather than Advent ones. At least two of the Dappleshire churches hope to redress the balance a little with Advent Carol Services on Advent Sunday. Real Advent music will accompany the lighting of the first Advent candle.

At St Peter's, Tuttleton, the service is led by the Rev'd Paul Thompson and features the St Peter's Choir. At Trinity, Crenton, the service is led by Mr Roland Stephenson.

Thank-you to 'Holy Jingles', Cedarbrook's worship band, who offered to play at either service. Perhaps next year.
